Obasan Foundation (without legs)

This beautiful, Canadian-made, certified organic Obasan mattress foundation is made out of wood and is a great replacement for your old boxspring to provide proper support for your mattress. Do you need a box spring? No - you do not need a box spring for new mattresses. Modern mattresses do not need a boxspring. However, you do need a bed base of some form to support your mattress. The slats in these foundations provide much better support and breathability (and therefore better sleep!) then springs. 

The Obasan Studio Knit Foundation is made in Canada out of Canadian wood and sits atop your existing bed frame. For perfect support as well as breathability, this foundation features 2" wood slats that keep your body aligned and your temperature regulated while you sleep. Available in a low profile 4" or standard 8" heights, this wooden zero-toxin foundation is wrapped in organic cotton jersey fabric and padded with organic wool. 

Our Queen and King size foundations also come in a split, two-piece version for easy installation and to accommodate tight staircases.
