Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading standard for organic textiles. This organization established comprehensive rules for ecological and socially responsible textile production. A GOTS certification ensures the organic status of textiles from harvesting of raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, and then all the way to labeling in order to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)

The Global Organic Latex Standard(GOLS)features permissible limits for harmful substances, emission test requirements and polymer and filler percentages. Rubber plantations as well as processing units up to the final retailer are certified according to the standard. By using transaction certificates at every sale of a product in the supply chain, traceability from the plantation to the final retailer is ensured. 

Premium Eco Wool™

Premium Eco Wool™ is produced to the highest standards on local American farms; some of these standards are beyond those specified for organic materials. Premium Eco Wool™ is not certified organic. At this time very little organic wool is grown in North America. Holy Lamb Organics' Premium Eco Wool™ is a blend of seven different types of wool varying from fine to coarse in order to create the most ideal wool fibre for use in bedding.

All of the domestically sourced natural wool in Holy Lamb Organics' products and Resthouse's Premium Eco Wool™ body pillows is certified Premium Eco Wool™.

IOAS

IOAS is a non-profit certification organization dedicated to the integrity of eco label claims in the field of organic and sustainable agriculture, environmental management, social justice and fair trade. They work internationally to assess the competence of organizations providing certification to "sustainability" standards, meaning producers can work in a fair environment and consumers can trust the products bearing these labels and the company's contribution to a more sustainable and fairer world.

IOAS's role is as an independent technical expert. It verifies correct application of the standard and the requirements for certification.

All wool and cotton fibre used at Holy Lamb Organics is IOAS certified.

Oregon Tilth

Oregon Tilth is a nonprofit research and education membership organization dedicated to biologically sound and socially equitable agriculture. Oregon Tilth offers educational events throughout the state of Oregon, and provides organic certification services to organic growers, processors, and handlers internationally.

The wool and cotton used by Holy Lamb Organics in the production of their products is Oregon Tilth certified.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent non-profit, membership-led organization that sets standards under which forests and companies are certified. Their membership consists of three equally weighted chambers; environmental, economic, and social.

The FSC's mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world's forests through a certification process that involves 10 principles and 57 criteria that apply to FSC-certified forests around the world.

The Dunlop latex used in Holy Lamb Organics mattress toppers is FSC certified.

UC Davis Toxicology Lab Tested California Animal Health & Food Safety Laboratory

All wool used by Holy Lamb Organics uses in the manufacturing of their natural and organic bedding products is tested for heavy metals through fibre sample analysis.

The official report indicates: "No toxic compounds were detected... Growers and ranchers raise sheep relative to organic standards (do not use herbicides, pesticides or growth hormones)."

Though not required by law, Holy Lamb Organics' mill has their wool periodically tested.

Element Materials Technology

All the raw materials at Holy Lamb Organics are required by law to pass a specific Phthalates test (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act CPSIA of 2008). The tests are regularly conducted by this agency.

All toppers and mattresses are also required to the cigarette burn test 1633. Verification is printed on all sewn-in product labels: "This Product Complies with the Federal Flammability Standard 16 CFR part 1632".

OEKO-TEX® Association

The OEKO-TEX® Association provides manufacturers in the textile and clothing industry with a uniform benchmark on a scientific basis for the evaluation of potentially harmful substances in textiles.

Fairtrade Certified

The Fairtrade Certification Mark on select Coyuchi products is your independent guarantee that the cotton used has been certified in accordance with international Fairtrade Standards. The purchase of this product made with Fairtrade Certified Cotton enables the improvement of working and living conditions of Cotton Producers in developing countries and encourages environmental protection. 1% For The Planet is a global movement that encourages businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual memberships as well as everyday actions. Coyuchi contributes to the 1% for the Planet cause with each sale of their Crinkled Percale and Percale bedding products.

MADE SAFE

MADE SAFE means a product has been made with ingredients not known or suspected to cause human health harm. Materials in both our Naturepedic and Coyuchi products have been scrutinized by scientists and experts to ensure they do not contain harmful ingredients or release vapors, gases, or by-products that could impact human health.

Skal

Skal Biocontrole Foundation is an independent organization for monitoring organic production in the Netherlands. More than 5000 organic farmers and food manufacturers based in the Netherlands are currently supervised by Skal. The organization is based in Zwolle. The organic cotton used in Crescent Moon Duvet & Pillow Co.'s products is certified by Skal.

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) 

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms in their global supply chains. They implement the principle international labour standards protecting workers’ rights such as International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and declarations, the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and guidelines for multinational enterprises of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). 

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

The United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) "provide[s] leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science, and effective management." The cotton fibre in Honest Sleep's mattresses and shikibutons is certified organic by USDA.

GREENGUARD

The GREENGUARD Certification Program℠ is a third-party testing program for emissions from consumer products and materials. GREENGUARD tests for criteria based on industry and governmental standards. All Naturepedic products are certified to the UL/GREENGUARD Gold Certification standard. 

Green America

Through its involvement with Green America and the Green Business Network, Naturepedic conducts its business according to standards that reach beyond contemporary practices in addressing the needs of consumers, employees, communities and the environment. 

Cradle to Cradle

Through the Cradle to Cradle certification process, Savvy Rest's Vita Talalay latex is certified safe and natural. The Cradle to Cradle Gold standard is comparable to those required for organic certification. Cradle to Cradle Gold goes above and beyond some of the requirements for certified organic products. Every aspect of the latex is assessed and tested to make sure it is indeed safe.
